About Me

Hello, my name is Jing Li. I am currently starting my career in software engineering. For the past few years, I have been studying and working as an accountant in Portland, Oregon. During my accounting job, I had the opportunity to be exposed to some data processing related work. So I taught myself some related knowledge such as SQL and Python, and while learning Python through Udemy and Coursera, I developed a strong curiosity about computer languages. I decided to learn about computers by completing Georgia Tech's Full Stack Developer Bootcamp program. Here, I mastered JavaScript, as well as development languages such as Node js, React and other languages developed by JS, and some back-end work related to databases. After successfully completing the bootcamp, while I was still waiting for my work visa, I decided to pursue a bachelor's degree in CS at Western Governors University in order to gain more systematic, theoretical, and fundamental experience in the CS field.

Now, I'm more focused on trying to find a computer-related internship that fits me and allows me to practice what I learned at Bootcamp and in college.

When I'm not working, I enjoy cooking for my family and friends and experiencing different recipes. I'm really good at cooking North Asian style food, especially Chinese food. Recently, I have tried some Spanish recipes like paella, and gazpacho. Other than that, Zumba is another passion of mine. Hopefully, after the pandemic, I can go back to the dance studio and hang out with my friends.
